Description

Famous Spanish-French Impressionist painter. Perez was born in the Spanish city of Zaragoza. He studied painting with his father, who made his name in colorful 18th-century meissonier genre paintings. Alonso moved to Paris at a young age. He painted light-hearted genre scenes, often with courtship and flirtatious encounters as subjects, the figures often dressed in 18th-century clothing. In addition, his work includes Parisian urban life, in which he used the fashionable clothes of an earlier period. Pérez was a true impressionist in his dealings with color and light.
