Paul Schouten is a famous Belgian landscape artist, born in 1860 in Paris and died in 1922 in Watermaal-Bosward, Belgium. He was the half-brother of animal artist Henry Schouten. He preferred animals and realistic landscapes. Sometimes he would paint a picture with his half-brother, with Henry representing the animals and Paul representing the characters and background.
